Commitment To Success

1987 while I was struggling building my Network Marketing business in The Philippines, I have the opportunity to meet a very successful Malaysian Network Marketer, Ong Hock Siew who was one of the Top Income Earner of the company that I was working with. Ong Hock Siew is an adventurer, Master Trainer, Motivator, Sportsmen, Author and Corporate Leader and he shared this powerful statement about Success with me; “Nothing will happens without Commitment!”

The Buzzword for Success today is Commitment. It does not matter whether it is completing a job in time, delivering the best customer service to delight a customer, meeting deadlines, achieving sales target, implementing procedures, maintaining quality or enforcing safety standards etc…, we need committed people to complete the necessary tasks. Commitment means doing what you said you would do!

For any team or organization to be successful, we need to have individuals who are committed to excellence. The challenge is to be able to get a full team of individuals to be committed together to success.

In the last 7 weeks while I was very busy forming a team of committed leaders to develop a new business together with my friend and business partner Philip Lim, we discovered that when we have a small team of individuals who are committed to a common set of goals, purposes and success, the team will create positive power and energy that are unstoppable.

However, the fact remain that there are very few committed leaders who are willing to make a commitment for success. It had been said that there are basically 3 groups of people in a team; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who do not know what happen!

The first group of people comprise of leaders or potential leaders in a team. They are team players and they are willing to take the leadership challenge to walk the extra miles together with you to make things happen. They do not sweat the small stuffs, give excuses and justify for their failures. They do whatever that is right to succeed. They are willing to adapt to change and pay the price for success. My friend and business partner, Philip Lim is exemplary of the first group of people who Make Things Happen in our new business venture together!


I strongly believes, “Nothing happens without Commitment”. The Price that we pay for Success will always be far lesser than the Prize that we are going to get in return for Success. For those who are not willing to make a commitment for success and to make life significant, more often than not will continue to live an ordinary and mediocre life.

Make a Commitment to Yourself, your Family, your Team and the Organization you are working with today for Success and to achieve greater heights of accomplishments in the months ahead!
