People Who Did Not Give Up

Here's are some of the great people who did not give up in what they believe in. Hopefully their stories can served as an inspiration and to provide some encouragement in times when your dreams seem out of reach and you started to have doubts in yourself.

Albert Einstein did not speak until he was 4-years-old and did not read until he was 7. His parents thought he was "sub-normal," and one of his teachers described him as "mentally slow, unsociable, and adrift forever in foolish dreams." He was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. He did eventually learn to speak and read. Even to do a little math.

As a young man, Abraham Lincoln went to war a captain and returned a private. Afterwards, he was a failure as a businessman. As a lawyer in Springfield, he was too impractical and temperamental to be a success. He turned to politics and was defeated in his first try for the legislature, again defeated in his first attempt to be nominated for congress, defeated in his application to be commissioner of the General Land Office, defeated in the senatorial election of 1854, defeated in his efforts for the vice-presidency in 1856, and defeated in the senatorial election of 1858. At about that time, he wrote in a letter to a friend, "I am now the most miserable man living. If what I feel were equally distributed to the whole human family, there would not be one cheerful face on the earth."

Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and preferred playing his own compositions instead of improving his technique. His teacher called him "hopeless as a composer." And, of course, you know that he wrote five of his greatest symphonies while completely deaf.

When Bell telephone was struggling to get started, its owners offered all their rights to Western Union for $100,000. The offer was disdainfully rejected with the pronouncement, "What use could this company make of an electrical toy."

After Harrison Ford's first performance as a hotel bellhop in the film Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round, the studio vice-president called him in to his office. "Sit down kid," the studio head said, "I want to tell you a story. The first time Tony Curtis was ever in a movie he delivered a bag of groceries. We took one look at him and knew he was a movie star." Ford replied, "I thought you were spossed to think that he was a grocery delivery boy." The vice president dismissed Ford with "You ain't got it kid , you ain't got it ... now get out of here."

Henry Ford
failed and went broke five times before he succeeded.

Louis Pasteur was only a mediocre pupil in undergraduate studies and ranked 15th out of 22 students in chemistry.

Michael Jordan and Bob Cousy were each cut from their high school basketball teams. Jordan once observed, "I've failed over and over again in my life. That is why I succeed."

A Paris art dealer refused Picasso shelter when he asked if he could bring in his paintings from out of the rain. One hopes that there is justice in this world and that the art dealer eventually went broke.

Thomas Edison's teachers said he was "too stupid to learn anything." He was fired from his first two jobs for being "non-productive." As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, "How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison replied, "I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps."

Van Gogh sold only one painting during his life. And this to the sister of one of his friends for 400 francs (approximately $50). This didn't stop him from completing over 800 paintings.

An expert said of Vince Lombardi: "He possesses minimal football knowledge and lacks motivation." Lombardi would later write, "It's not whether you getknocked down; it's whether you get back up."

Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas." He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland. In fact, the proposed park was rejected by the city of Anaheim on the grounds that it would only attract riffraff.

Winston Churchill failed sixth grade. He was subsequently defeated in every election for public office until he became Prime Minister at the age of 62. He later wrote, "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never, Never, Never, Never give up."

Never Give Up

Dreaming is Fun! It is easy to dream. The harder part is how to keep your dreams alive. Do you have a dream that you have already given up or you are close to giving up?

Before you make any decision to quit pursuing on your dreams that you could regret down the road, take a few minutes to be inspired by the Success Story of Paul Potts.

Paul Potts was born in Bristol, England on October 13, 1970. He had always liked opera and always had the desire to be an opera singer. A victim of bullying, he experienced a difficult time during school, causing him to grow up with little confidence. But his interest remained and he practiced his passion secretly – up until 1999, when he decided it was time to make his stand. Dressing up as Luciano Pavarotti, Paul actually got up on stage during a karaoke competition and sang opera. He was somewhat discovered that night and went on to sing opera, unpaid, for a few opera companies until his hopes were dash yet again by a series of illnesses, followed by a serious injury sustained in a bicycle accident.

Paul Potts then went to work for Bridgend Carphone Warehouse where he worked at a routine job as a mobile phone salesman. In 2003, he married a young woman that he had met in an Internet chat room. All the while, he kept his opera singing passion and desires secretly alive.

Then on June 7, 2007, it all changed once again for Paul Potts. He decided to throw himself into the mix for a new Simon Cowell talent show called Britain’s Got Talent, and to the astonishment of everyone connected with the show, he wowed the audience with a beautiful rendition of Nessun Dorma.

Paul Potts continued to impress beyond all expectations and was declared the winner of the first-ever Britain’s Got Talent competition. Creator Simon Cowell instantly signed Potts to a recording contract. The resulting album – called One Chance, zoomed to the top of the classical/opera recording charts everywhere from Australia to Norway.

His stunning voice, his astounding vocal range (for someone untrained except for a few lessons he had in Italy that he paid for out of his own savings), matched with his very human story, has made Paul Potts the subject of interest in magazines to television shows the world over. But the question that is asked of all reality show winners – whether or not this is a manufactured, flash-in-the-pan bit of success or real, sustainable talent – is not being asked of Paul Potts. His voice and ability make that question completely unnecessary.

Success is a journey, not a destination. In your journey to pursue your dreams do not be threaten by circumstances and obstacles along the way that are going to slow you down towards realizing your dreams. Beware of dream stealers who are going to steal your dreams.

Never Give Up in believing in yourself. You are destined for greatness and your best is yet to come!

Happy 79th Birthday, Jim Rohn

There are many peoples who have influenced and impacted my life positively over the years. One of them who had made a significant impact in my life is Jim Rohn, a world renowned business philosopher who challenged me to work hard on myself to earn a fortune.

This is what Jim Rohn once said, “If you work hard on your job you can make a living, If you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune”

Jim Rohn will celebrate his 79th birthday on Thursday, 17th September, 2009. Jim Rohn had touched millions of people around the world in his more than 40 years of teaching the principles of personal achievement and success.

Together with millions of people around the world, I wish Jim Rohn, Greatness and a Blessed Birthday!

Below is one of the articles by Jim Rohn that encourages me to stop looking at others who live the good life, wishing that I was as well and begin to commit to my improvement, develop a plan and act on it. The title of the article is Let It Be You!.

Each and every day, there are people all around the country and world who are living their dreams. Millionaires are made every day. Families are experiencing tremendous relationships. People are becoming more and more healthy. Lifelong learners are growing intellectually and improving their chances for success.

The fact is, living the life of your dreams is possible. People prove that every day. Someone somewhere is going to get rich, get healthy and improve their life. My recommendation is this: Let it be you.

Have you ever wanted to make more money? Have you ever looked at someone who has money and wished it could be you? People think about getting wealthy all the time, when only a small percentage actually do. But any of the masses could. Someone is going to start a business. Someone is going to make a great investment. Someone is going to begin the journey to great wealth. So why not let it be you?

Someone is going to decide to improve their relationships. Someone is going to enjoy love with their family. Someone is going to schedule some meaningful time with their friends. So why not let it be you?

Someone is going to go back to school to improve their life. Someone is going to become a lifelong learner. Someone is going to set a goal to read a book or listen to a CD each week for the next year. So why not let it be you?

Someone is going to look in the mirror and see that they need to lose a little weight and make the decision to become healthy. Someone will run their first marathon. Someone will join an aerobics class and improve their health. Why not let it be you?

I think that by now you get the point: Everyday people are improving their lives. Whether you do or don’t doesn’t matter to those who do. They are going to do it, regardless. It is simply a matter of a decision being made. Let that person be you!

You may be asking, “OK, Jim, but how?’ Well, let’s cover the very simple actions.

The first and most important thing to do is to make a commitment to work on yourself. Are you going to improve or stay the same? No matter what you have achieved, you are at a certain point right now. What you have achieved in the past is fine, but it doesn’t make a difference for the future. The decision about what you will become is made each and every day. Each day, someone is making the decision to better himself. Let that person be you!

The second is to make a plan. Once you have decided to become better, you will have to have a plan. It doesn’t have to be a long, intricate plan. It can be simple. Save a dollar a day. Walk a mile a day. Read an article a day. It’s a simple plan with achievable goals. Someone is going to develop a plan that will take them into the future of their dreams. Let it be you!

The third is to begin to act. All of the great ideas, without action, become stale and useless. The key to turning dreams into reality is action. People who have great ideas are a dime a dozen. People who act on their dreams and ideas are the select few, but they are the ones who gain the health, wealth and wisdom that is available. Someone will act today. Let it be you.

Remember what Jim Rohn shared,Stop looking at others who live the good life, wishing that you were as well, and begin to commit to your improvement, develop a plan and act on it. Someone is going to. Let it be you!”

Are you realizing your dreams?

Elaine Paige (left) & Susan Boyle (right)

Do you have dreams?

A lot of people do not have the courage to pursue their dreams. They fear that people will laugh and ridicule them if the failed to realize their dreams.

Bill Cosby said, “In order to Succeed, your Desire for Success should be Greater than your Fear of Failure!”

Susan Boyle Success Story...
Susan Boyle is an unemployed, 47-years-old from a small town in Scotland.
She had never been married, lives alone with a ten year old cat in a council home and she do not dressed like a star.

Susan Boyle had a dream… when she stepped up on to the stage of Britain’s Got Talent to sing the song, “I dreamed, a Dream” from Les Miserables, she declared publicly that she wants to be famous and to be like Elaine Paige. Everyone laughed at her!

But when Susan Boyle opened her mouth and sang the song, “I Dreamed a Dream” the world were caught up with her voice and fell in love with her instantly. Susan Boyle has taught the world a great lesson from the show, not to judge anyone based on their outward appearance but to look within the person their fullest potential.

The audience rose in within seconds to applaud her incredible voice as the celebrity judges were stunned and starred attentively on her performance in amazement.

Susan Boyle created a magical moment from that event onwards and moves millions of people around the world to think differently about themselves and their journey towards realizing their dreams.

Watch the magical moment that changed the life of Susan Boyle and millions out there that had watched her on Youtube. I was deeply moved by her talent, success and unwavering belief in herself.

The video below was viewed by more than 25 million viewer world wide and the figures are increasing! Susan Boyle is really making a big difference in the life of millions through her performance.

This is what judge Piers Morgan has to say about Susan Boyle:

“Without a doubt that w
as the biggest surprise I have had in three years on the show. When you stood there with that cheeky grin and said, ‘I wanna be like Elaine Paige’, everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now. That was stunning, an incredible performance. Amazing. I’m reeling from shock.”

Feedback from judge Amanda Holden:
“I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honesty think that we were all being very cynical and I think that's the biggest wake up call ever. And I just want to say that it was a complete privilege listening to that."

Lessons that we all can learn from Su
san Boyle…

Susan has gone through a lot in her life. She lives in her childhood home in West Lothian, Scotland. She cared for her mother until her mom died in 2006 at the age of 91 and her father passed away 10 years before.
Unfortunately for her, her struggling journey started from the day she was born.

She was starved of oxygen at birth and has a learning disability because of the accident. It didn’t get any better for her when she began going to school. She was looked down by other pupils, laughed at and bullied. Susan Boyle says, she was abused and teased by classmates, and the scars of their comments remain to this day!

When she walked across the streets where she lives, she saw some of the guys she went to school with. They have moved on with their lives, they are married, have children and there wasn’t any progression or success with her life. Susan Boyle believes she was talented. She was told by her mom that she was supposed to apply to one of these TV reality shows and was assured by her mom that she would win if she goes up there.

Susan Boyles gathered enough courage a few years later after her moms passing and we saw her on stage at Britain’s Got Talent. She revealed to the world her amazing talent and her world instantly changed!

Dream Big Dreams! Do not be afraid to dream again. It does not really matter what other people may think, feel or say about your dreams. They may ridicule or laugh at your dreams.

What matter most is that you have to have the courage
, determination, perseverance, faith and believes in yourself to realize your dreams and goals.

Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Make your Dreams come true...

No arms, No legs, No Worries...

When we are surrounded by so many negative headlines in the media, insurmountable obstacles, circumstances and challenges that we have to overcome everyday, that sometimes leave us feeling helpless, we all need something to keep the Hope in us alive again.

On 14th December, 2008, I have the opportunity to see and hear Nick Vujicic speaks in person to a crowd of more than 500 people in my hometown, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Nick Vujicic's life story is an inspiration to me and to millions of people around the world and I believes his story will inspires you to Believe and have Faith in yourself.

Enjoy viewing Nick Vujicic video below and be inspired by his story…

About Nick Vujicic

Imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone, no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about being born without legs? Having no ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand on two feet. Now put both of those scenarios together, no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that effect your everyday life?

Meet Nick Vujicic... Born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, without any medical explanation or warning, Nicholas Vujicic (pronounced Voy-a-chich) came into the world with neither arms or legs. Having had an uneventful pregnancy and no family history to expect this condition, imagine the shock his parents felt when they saw their first born, brand new baby boy, only to find he was what the world would consider imperfect and abnormal. A limbless son was not what nurse Dushka Vujicic, and her husband Pastor Borris Vujicic had been expecting. How would their son live a normal happy life? What could he ever do or become when living with what the world would see as such a massive disability? Little did they or anyone know that this beautiful limbless baby would one day be someone who would inspire and motivate people from all walks of life, touching lives all over the world.

Throughout his childhood Nick dealt not only with the typical challenges of school and adolescence such as bullying and self-esteem issues; he also struggled with depression and loneliness as he questioned why he was different to all the other kids surrounding him; why he was the one born without arms and legs. He wondered what was the purpose behind his life, or if he even had a purpose. After a lot of frustration and feeling like the odd one out in school, at seven years of age Nick tried out some specially designed electronic arms and hands, in hope that he would be more like the other kids. During the short trial period of the electronic arms, Nick realized that even with them, he was still unlike his peers at school, and they turned out to be much too heavy for Nick to operate, effecting his general mobility quite significantly.

As Nick grew up he learn to deal with his disability and started to be able to do more and more things on his own. He adapted to his situation and found ways to accomplish tasks that most people could only do by using their limbs, such as cleaning teeth, brushing hair, typing on a computer, swimming, playing sports, and much more. As time went by Nick began to embrace his situation and achieve greater things. In grade seven Nick was elected captain of his school and worked with the student council there on various fund-raising events for local charities and disability campaigns.

According to Nick the victory over his struggles throughout his journey, as well as the strength and passion he has for life can be credited to his faith, his family, his friends and the many people he encountered during his life who have encouraged him along the way.

After school Nick went on with further study and obtained a double bachelor degree majoring in accounting and financial planning. By the age of 19 Nick started to fulfil his dream of being able to encourage other people and bring them hope, through motivational speaking and telling his story. I found the purpose of my existence, and also the purpose of my circumstance. There’s a purpose for why you’re in the fire. Nick wholeheartedly
believes that there is a purpose in each of the struggles we encounter in our lives and that our attitude towards those struggles that can be the single most effective factor in overcoming them.

In 2005 Nick was nominated for the "Young Australian of the Year" Award, which is a large honor in Australia, recognizing a young person for their excellence and service to their local community and the nation, as well as their own personal accomplishments. Nominations for this award are only given to truly inspirational people.

Now at 25 years old this limbless young man has accomplished more than most people even twice his age. Nick recently made the massive move from Brisbane, Australia to California, USA, where he is the president of an international non-profit organization, and also has his own motivational speaking company; Attitude Is Altitude. Since his first motivational speaking engagement back when he was 19, Nick has traveled around the world, sharing his story with millions of people, speaking to a range of different groups such as students, teachers, youth, business men and women, entrepreneurs, and church congregations of all sizes. He has also told his story and been interviewed on various televised programs worldwide. However, Nicks speaking engagements have gone beyond purely motivational speaking, he has had the opportunity to speak with several leaders, including the vice president of Kenya. This year alone Nick is set to speak in over 20 countries.

People say to me, How can you smile?
he says. Then they realize theres got to be something more to life than meets the eye if a guy without arms and legs is living a fuller life than I am.

Nick shares with his audiences the importance of vision and dreaming big. Using his own experiences in worldwide
outreach as examples, he challenges others to examine their perspective and look beyond their circumstances. He shares his view of ceasing to see obstacles as problems, but instead begin to see them as opportunities to grow and reach out to others. He stresses the importance of our attitude being the most powerful tool we have at our disposal and illustrates how the choices we make can have a profound effect on our lives and the lives of those around us. Nick shows through his own life that the major keys in fulfilling our biggest dreams are persistence and choosing to embrace failure as a learning experience, rather than allowing the guilt and fear of failure to paralyze us.

How does Nick Vujicic feel about his disability now? He accepts it, embraces it and oftentimes
pokes fun at his own circumstance as he shows off his many tricks. He meets challenges with his special blend of humor, perseverance and faith always encouraging those around him to examine their perspective as they develop and define their vision. Using those new definitions he challenges each person he meets to make changes in their lives so that they can begin the path to fulfilling their biggest dreams. Through his amazing ability to connect with people from all walks of life and his incredible sense of humor that captivates children, teens and adults alike, Nick is a truly inspirational motivational speaker.

The next time when you think, feel and act negatively… Think of Nick Vujicic and be inspired by his life story to change the way you should think feel and act to move on in our journey in life. Believe and have Faith in yourself! John Maxwell once shared, “If you have faith in your future, you will have power in your present"

Start living your life to the fullest today...

# 1 Secret To Success

Have you ever ask, why are some people more successful than others?

Why do some people make more money, live happier lives and accomplish much more in the same number of years than the great majority?

Brian Tracy is one of America's leading authors on the development of human potential. He started out in life with few advantages. He did not graduate from high school and he worked at menial jobs. He had limited education, limited skills and a limited future.

And then when he began asking, "Why are some people more successful than others?" The question changed his life.

Over the years, Brian Tracy read thousands of books and articles on the subjects of success and achievement. It seems that the reasons for these accomplishments have been discussed and written about for more than two thousand years, in every conceivable way. One quality that most philosophers, teachers and experts agree on is the importance of self-discipline.

As Al Tomsik summarized it years ago, "Success is tons of discipline."

Brian Tracy said this..."If I had to pick the #1 key to success, it would be...self-discipline. It is the difference in winning or losing; between greatness and mediocrity."

Some years ago, Brian Tracy attended a conference in Washington. It was the lunch break and he was eating at a nearby food fair. The area was crowded and he sat down at the last open table by himself, even though it was a table for four.

A few minutes later, an older gentleman and a younger woman who was his assistant came along carrying trays of food, obviously looking for a place to sit. With plenty of room at my table, Brian Tracy immediately arose and invited the older gentleman to join him. The older gentleman was hesitant, but Brian Tracy insisted. Finally, thanking him as the older gentleman sat down, they began to chat over lunch.

It turned out that the older gentleman’s name was Kop Kopmeyer. As it happened, Brian Tracy immediately knew who the older gentleman was. He was a legend in the field of success and achievement. Kop Kopmeyer had written four large books, each of which contained 250 success principles that he had derived from more than fifty years of researc
h and study. Brian Tracy had read all four books from cover to cover, more than once.

After they had chatted for awhile, Brian Tracy asked him the question that many people in this situation would ask, "Of all the one thousand success principles that he had discovered, which do he think is the most important?"

He smiled at Brian Tracy with a twinkle in his eye, as if he had been asked this question many times, and replied, without hesitating,

"The most important success principle of all was stated by Thomas Huxley many years ago. He said, "Do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not."

He went on to say, "There are 999 other success principles that I have found in my reading and experience, but without self-discipline, none of them work."

Self-discipline is the key to personal greatness. It is the magic quality that opens all doors for you, and makes everything else possible. With self-discipline, the average person can rise as far and as fast as his talents and intelligence can take him. But without self-discipline, a person with every blessing of background, education and opportunity will seldom rise above mediocrity.

"No stream or gas drives anything until it is confined. No Niagara is ever turned into light and power until it is tunneled. No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated and disciplined."

~Harry E. Fosdick

Philosophy: Better to Give than to Receive

I am inspired by the philosophy of Dato’ Dr. Tan Hian-Tsin on giving. He said, “It’s Better to Give than to Receive”. My association with Dato’ Dr. Tan Hian-Tsin and his wife, To’ Puan Tan-Tsao Sui Lan goes back since 1993 while I was serving as the President of JCI Kuching Chapter.

Junior Chamber International, JCI is is a worldwide community of young active citizens ages 18-40 who share the belief that in order to create positive change, we must take collective action to improve ourselves and the world around us. Engaging in activities ranging from community development to international projects, members demonstrate their social responsibility and improve themselves through participation, leadership and action.

I remember vividly one day when I personally approach Dato’ Dr. Tan to support JCI Kuching to raise fund for our Chapter to buy our Chapter’s permanent secretariat and he replied positively to support the project without any hesitation.

Dato' Dr. Tan (Centre), Second from left, Professor Dr Wu Xiu, Second from right, To' Puan Tan-Tsao Sui Lan, Poh (Right)

Shortly after our discussion, Dato’ Dr. Tan, his beloved wife, To’ Puan Tsao-Tan Sui Lan who did her finger painting together with Professor Dr. Wu Xiu from China staged the Chinese Art Exhibition organized by JCI Kuching and JCI Damai and the project successfully raised some funds for the purchased of our permanent secretariat.

A “Big Thank You” to Dato’ Dr. Tan, To’ Puan Tan-Tsao Sui Lan and Professor Dr. Wu Xiu for your generosity. From the last blog that I posted, many people ask me who is Dato' Dr. Tan-Hian Tsin and below is an excerpt taken from one of the article published by JCI News about Dato Dr. Tan and him I believes his success story will inspire you.

Who is Dato' Dr. Tan-Hian Tsin?
When a man with only a primary education goes on to receive honorary doctorate degrees from prestigious American and Chinese universities, is conferred with a "Datoship" (an honor equivalent to a knighthood), and has hundreds of other recognitions coming his way, the question that immediately comes to mind is: "Who is he and what did he do?"

In the late 1940s, as a young and ambitious entrepreneur in Singapore, Tan created a company specializing in woven and knit shirts and undergarments. He envisioned the development of homegrown branded products that would take the world by a storm.

Tan began looking for names of animals -- "Tiger," "Lion," "Elephant" -- as the brand name and an animal figure as the trademark. To his utmost disappointment, he found that all such animal names were already registered. Then the name "Crocodile" flashed in his mind and he was happily surprised to find out that the name was available for registration.

That's how Tan, a 22-year-old Chinese youth, launched the Crocodile brand way back in 1947. Riding on Crocodile, there was no looking back. Sailing through rough waters and overcoming extremely difficult hurdles, Tan made Crocodile one of the most popular brands of Asia. It now has a presence in 24 countries with more than 100 product lines and 1000 exclusive stores and galleries.

"A brand that is for the masses should be easily recognizable by the layman," says Dr. Tan, now Chairman of Crocodile International Pte. Ltd. Popularly known as "Mr. Crocodile," he believes that the name and the mark should leave an impression in people's mind. "Good quality at an affordable price is what makes a brand click," he adds.

Better to Give than to Receive...
At the JCI Foundation Reception in Fukuoka, Dato’ Dr. Tan was called on stage with his wife. He made a brief speech in which he pointed out that he was not really a wealthy man, but he believed in Jesus Christ's teachings that "It's better to give than to receive," and he felt fortunate to be able to donate to an organization like JCI that helps young people succeed, young people who believe that "Service to humanity is the best work of life."

His words as well as his humble and approachable demeanor deeply touched all reception attendees. JCI Members will benefit not only from Dato’ Dr. Tan's generous donations, but also from the admirable example he sets for young people worldwide.

I trust that the above article will inspire and motivate you to give a little bit more.

Happy Giving . . .

You Become What You Think and Who You Associate With!

Photo taken at the Kuching Waterfront with Founder & Chairman of Crocodile International Pte Ltd,

Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin & his wife To' Puan Tan-Sui Lan

There is a proverb from the Bible that reads, "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."

Napoleon Hill, in his famous book "Think and Grow Rich", wrote, "Whatever your Mind can Conceive and Believe, it can Achieve"

Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge".

Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."

It had been said, “You become what you think!” So guarding your mind well is extremely important. Below are a few questions that you may want to ask yourself on a daily basis to ensure that you are right on track towards your journey of success.

What do you fill your mind with on a daily basis?

Do you think about your goals?

The success of your business you are soon going to achieve? Or do you dwell on past mistakes and the negative circumstances that are surrounding you?

If you are thinking about your failures, that is what you will eventually become. In the field of computer science, we use the phrase, G.I.G.O. which means, “Garbage In, Garbage Out”. It is used primarily to call attention to the fact that computers will unquestioningly process the most nonsensical of input data and produce nonsensical output.

Our mind is like a computer. We can program our mind positively or negatively. Our mind will store whatever we are going to pour into it and whatever we store in our mind will affect our ability to succeed.

You will become who you associate with...

I am blessed with the opportunity to be associated with many successful people who have inspired me to strive for greater heights of acomplishments. One of them is a very successful and humble couple, Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin and his wife To' Puan Tan-Sui Lan.

Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin is the Founder and Chairman of Crocodile International Pte Ltd. I have personally chosen Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin and To' Puan as my mentors. Both have motivated and inspired me with their humble spirit of giving freely to bless others.

You may want to ask yourself these few questions on the people you are associated with:-

What kind of people do I spend my time with?

  • Naysayers?
  • People who struggle financially?
  • People who don't understand your drive and your desire to succeed in the business you are in?
  • People with No Dreams & Vision?
  • Dream stealers?

If these are the people that you take advice from, you may need to urgently change them. If these are the people that you call them "friends", you may need to find new circle of friends.

We need to surround ourselves with optimistic, successful, creative, generous, "Big Thinkers" and Visionary Leaders who can influence our lives and the lives around us in positive ways.

So remember to choose carefully the thoughts that you are going to program into your mind and the people whom you will choose to be associated with in your journey to success.

Yours POSitively,
