You Become What You Think and Who You Associate With!

Photo taken at the Kuching Waterfront with Founder & Chairman of Crocodile International Pte Ltd,

Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin & his wife To' Puan Tan-Sui Lan

There is a proverb from the Bible that reads, "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."

Napoleon Hill, in his famous book "Think and Grow Rich", wrote, "Whatever your Mind can Conceive and Believe, it can Achieve"

Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge".

Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."

It had been said, “You become what you think!” So guarding your mind well is extremely important. Below are a few questions that you may want to ask yourself on a daily basis to ensure that you are right on track towards your journey of success.

What do you fill your mind with on a daily basis?

Do you think about your goals?

The success of your business you are soon going to achieve? Or do you dwell on past mistakes and the negative circumstances that are surrounding you?

If you are thinking about your failures, that is what you will eventually become. In the field of computer science, we use the phrase, G.I.G.O. which means, “Garbage In, Garbage Out”. It is used primarily to call attention to the fact that computers will unquestioningly process the most nonsensical of input data and produce nonsensical output.

Our mind is like a computer. We can program our mind positively or negatively. Our mind will store whatever we are going to pour into it and whatever we store in our mind will affect our ability to succeed.

You will become who you associate with...

I am blessed with the opportunity to be associated with many successful people who have inspired me to strive for greater heights of acomplishments. One of them is a very successful and humble couple, Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin and his wife To' Puan Tan-Sui Lan.

Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin is the Founder and Chairman of Crocodile International Pte Ltd. I have personally chosen Dato' Dr. Tan Hian Tsin and To' Puan as my mentors. Both have motivated and inspired me with their humble spirit of giving freely to bless others.

You may want to ask yourself these few questions on the people you are associated with:-

What kind of people do I spend my time with?

  • Naysayers?
  • People who struggle financially?
  • People who don't understand your drive and your desire to succeed in the business you are in?
  • People with No Dreams & Vision?
  • Dream stealers?

If these are the people that you take advice from, you may need to urgently change them. If these are the people that you call them "friends", you may need to find new circle of friends.

We need to surround ourselves with optimistic, successful, creative, generous, "Big Thinkers" and Visionary Leaders who can influence our lives and the lives around us in positive ways.

So remember to choose carefully the thoughts that you are going to program into your mind and the people whom you will choose to be associated with in your journey to success.

Yours POSitively,

Tribute To Mothers

After having a simple Mother’s Day Dinner with my mum tonight, I saw a newspaper cutting with a beautiful picture of an elderly mother’s hands and the writing of Johnnie Ann Burgess Gaskill about his mother which sum up what I want to express in my tribute to my mother on Mother's Day.

" My mother's hands are beautiful to me. I see loveliness in them that others may not see. I am awed by all her skillful hands have done. How they've worked constantly from sun to sun. I'm thankful for the love my mother's hands have always shown. As, through the years, they've washed and cooked and soothed and sewn"

The above picture and writing reminds me of my mum’s love in bringing up all my 4 brothers and 1 sister to where we are today. My mum had sacrificed and worked very hard to give us her best. She is one of the greatest blessings God has given to all of us.

On this special occasion of Mother’s Day, I would like to pay special tribute to all mothers. If we have never said thank you mum for bringing us into this world, let us do it today!

Thank You and I Love You Mum.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers! You all are the Best!

Happy Labor Day !

Labor Day is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world that resulted from the labor union movement, to celebrate the economic ad social achievements of workers. Most countries including Malaysia celebrate Labor Day on May 1, and it is popularly known as May Day and International Workers’ Day.

People sometimes attribute other’s achievements and successes to ‘luck’. True achievements and successes can only be realized through working hard and smart. L.U.C.K. therefore is Laboring Under Correct Knowledge! When we acquire the right knowledge and apply them with the right attitude, luck will be the output of the efforts we put in. Achievement and success does not come out of the blue. It comes from laboring under correct knowledge. Gain the right kind of knowledge, attitude and skills and apply them to whatever you do today, the doors of achievements and success will surely be opened to you.

I would like to leave you with a very well thought-out Creed that was written by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Creeds are good guiding principles for each and everyone of us to follow and to live by. There is Power in a Creed. If we want to live worthwhile and purposeful lives, it pays to choose and believe in a worthwhile and purposeful creed.

Here is one of the worthwhile and purposeful creed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.:-

"I believe in the supreme worth of the individual and in his right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

"I believe that every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty.

"I believe that the law was made for man and not man for the law; that government is the servant of the people and not their master.

"I believe in the dignity of labor, whether with head or hand; that the world owes no man a living, but that it owes every man an opportunity to make a living.

"I believe that thrift is essential to well-ordered living and that economy is a prime requisite of a sound financial structure, whether in government, business, or personal affairs.

"I believe that truth and justice are fundamental to an enduring social order.

"I believe in the sacredness of a promise, that a man's word should be as good as his bond; that character-not wealth or power or position-is of supreme worth.

"I believe that the rendering of useful service is the common duty of mankind and that only in the purifying fire of sacrifice is the dross of selfishness consumed and the greatness of the human soul set free.

"I believe in an all-wise and all-loving God ... and that the individual's highest fulfillment, greatest happiness, and widest usefulness are to be found in living in harmony with His will.

"I believe that love is the greatest thing in the world; that it alone can overcome hate; that right can and will triumph over might."

Read the above Creed as often as you can and practice them daily. You will be amazed by how the creed can guide you in your everyday decisions making process to achieve your true achievements and successes.

Good L.U.C.K!
